Become a member of the BCNA!
Are you a resident or business looking to become active in our community? Send us an email and we’ll be happy to speak with you about our many volunteer opportunities. Together, we can make Bishops Corner a great place to Eat, Shop, Live and Stay!
When We Meet
The BCNA meets the 2nd Friday of every other month at the Bishops Corner Senior Center from 8am-9am. Alternating months are used for the Committees, listed below, to meet at an agreeable time, day or evening.
Join a Volunteer Committee
Volunteering can offer many benefits, including a way to develop and sharpen skills that are marketable. Becoming a BCNA volunteer can help you learn more about leadership, marketing, organizing, event planning, social media and project management.
There are four committees currently sponsored by the BCNA. It’s OK if you don’t have a lot of time to invest; just let us know which area is of most interest and how much time you’d like to contribute.
Our Committees
- Pedestrian/Bicycle Safety Committee
- Arts at Bishops Corner
- Bishops Corner Farmers’ Market
- BCNA Marketing Committee

Volunteer at the Farmers’ Market at Bishops Corner!
Spring is here! That means the Farmers’ Market at Bishops Corner is gearing up for another successful season. The 2016 season will continue to be on Saturdays from June 20 - Sept 12, 9-noon. We’re currently seeking vendors interested in participating in our busy market. If you know of a potential farmer, please let us know! We’re also in need of volunteers to help staff the market table. Each shift is about 2 1/2 hours. No experience is necessary. This would be a great volunteer opportunity for high school or college students!
Arts @ Bishops Corner
The Arts Subcommittee of the Bishops Corner Neighborhood Association has been active in recent
years bringing various forms of art to the neighborhood. Poetry on the Patio, Meet the Artists, Open Mic, and Poetry Night are examples of events sponsored by the organization. As a direct result of the success
of these events, Arts @ Bishops Corner is expanding to create a larger awareness of the arts in our area. We are very excited to network with musicians, writers, visual artists and educational systems that operate and live in our part of West Hartford. Bishops Corner is large and extensive. It is beyond the scope of the four corners of businesses. We are looking for additional artists who are interested to continue the work of engaging the community through art. We believe that the arts bring so much to a community and together we can change, improve and add to the vision of what is possible for Bishops Corner. Interested artists should email the BCNA at [email protected].
