BCNA Helps to Secure $850,000 State Grant to Improve North Main / Albany Ave Intersection

The Bishops Corner Neighborhood Association has identified the North Main Street / Albany Avenue intersection as an impediment for pedestrian safety and commercial growth.  The BCNA has worked with the town and state to highlight the danger, especially for non motorized modes of transportation at this intersection.  As a result of our effort, we were recently informed the State DOT has awarded an $850,000 grant to improve the intersection.  We expect to hear more information from the state on public information sessions over the next few months.

The Bishops Corner Neighborhood Association's committee on pedestrian safety met for first time on 10/1/18.  The committee is comprised of both residents and businesses and tasked with working with the State DOT and town to advocate for a safer Bishops Corner for motorists, pedestrians and bicyclists.   The State DOT Dept of Engineering will be attending an upcoming committee meeting (TBA).  More information to follow.
